One feature that customers have been very interested in with Yamaha’s new 425hp XTO Offshore Outboards has been the ability to change gearcase (lower unit) lube without removing the boat from the water. The XTO outboards are fitted with a set of air and oil lines inside the upper cowling.
These lines feature quick disconnects, allowing for old oil to be extracted and new oil to be pumped in:
Unfortunately, Yamaha is currently showing an unavailable status for their 90890-06963 Gear Oil Attachment Kit.
Luckily, the quick releases are a standard 1/4” ISO-B hydraulic fitting (such as the Dixon 2HF2-B) and should be available at any local hydraulic shop: https://www.dixonvalve.com/product/2HF2-B
